2018 Summer Camp Extended Day Care

SUMMER CAMP BEFORE-CARE

Before-care is available from 7:30-8:45 a.m. when camp is in session.  There is no camp or care on July 4. Campers may only attend before-care on days they are attending camp.  Activities are recreation- and play-based. Staff members are CPR and first aid certified.
Drop-in before-care is available each day camp is in session.
  • Parents/guardians will be invoiced for drop-in before-care after use, and payment will be due within 7 days of receipt of invoice.
  • A $50 late fee will be assessed for any before-care fees not paid within 7 days of invoice date.
Before-care opens at 7:30 a.m.
  • Campers may be dropped-off as early as 7:30 a.m. and anytime up until 8:40 a.m.
  • Parents/guardians should park in the parking lot and walk their child(ren) in to sign in.
  • No child should walk to the building without a parent.
The before-care fee is $12/day per child for either K-6 or preschool.  The charge is the same regardless of arrival time.
  • Families with multiple children in before-care at the same time will pay full fees for the first child and will enjoy a 50% discount on each additional child’s fees.
If parents/guardians would like a receipt, please submit a request to business@pinecrestschool.org.  Advanced notice is required.
  • Receipts will be processed as soon as possible, but patience is appreciated as the school’s Finance Associate works on a part-time schedule.

SUMMER CAMP AFTER-CARE

After-care is available for any preschool or K-6 camper on all days that camp is in session.  There is no camp or care on July 4. Campers may only attend before-care on days they are attending camp.  Types of activities include outdoor and indoor play, story time or independent reading, and classroom games.  An afternoon snack is provided by camp every day.  There are at least two staff members on duty at all times, and at least one is CPR and first aid certified.
For preschoolers, time for lunch (children bring their own lunch from home) and nap/rest time is included in after-care. This is a Commonwealth of Virginia licensing requirement.
Pinecrests requests that parents/guardians who plan to use after-care inform the front office, preferably at the beginning of the week, or at least as early as possible for a particular day.
  • Preschool after-care runs from 12:00 noon until 6:00 p.m.
  • K-6 after-care runs 3:45 p.m. until 6:00 p.m.
  • Children may attend the Pinecrest Pavilion after-care program as few or as many hours as needed.
The rate for after-care is $12.00 per hour, per child, for actual time spent in after-care.  Charges are calculated in half-hour increments.
  • Parents/guardians will be invoiced for after-care use, and payment will be due within 7 days of receipt of invoice.
  • A $50 late fee will be assessed for any after-care fees not paid within 7 days of invoice date.
  • Families with multiple children in the same after-care program at the same time (i.e., both in K-6 after-care or both in preschool after-care) will pay full fees for the first child and will receive a 50% discount on each additional child’s fees.
  • A $15.00 late pick-up fee is charged if a child is picked up between 6:00-6:10 p.m.  An additional $2.00 per minute fee is charged after 6:10 p.m.  This late fee is per child.  Advance notice of late arrival by the parent does not nullify the late fee.  Frequent late pick-ups may cause the child’s dismissal from the program.

If one-time or unexpected after-care is needed, please notify the Pinecrest front office that day (or week) by means of a written note, a phone call to the office at 703.354.3446 or an email to office@pinecrestschool.org.
  • Whenever possible, Pinecrest requests that parents/guardians share their after-care needs for the entire week at the beginning of the week.
Campers may be picked up anytime between 3:45-6:00 p.m.
  • Children must be signed out in the after-care binder by a parent/guardian or his/her designee (only when advance written notice has been provided).
  • If a child is scheduled to attend after-care, and there has been a change of plans, please notify Pinecrest as soon as possible.
